Privacy policy

Last updated November 4, 2026

AyPress (aypress.com) is run by Wet Ocean. This page explains what we store when you use the site, why, and how to remove it. In short: you can read everything without an account, most of what you do stays on your device, and we never sell your data.

On your device

Your library (saved, liked and finished books), reading positions, bookmarks, highlights, notes, reader and theme settings, audiobook positions and downloaded books are kept in your browser's storage. They stay on your device unless you sign in. You can remove them by clearing this site's data in your browser, or from your account page when signing out.

If you create an account

We store your email address (to sign you in) and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and picture they share. We also store a copy of your library and reading data so it can sync between your devices. You can delete your account and all of this at any time from the account page.

Likes, ratings and reviews

When you like, rate or review a book we store it with a random ID for your browser (or your account, if you're signed in). Reviews and the name you choose to show are public. We never show the ID. Reviews may be hidden or removed if readers report them or they break our terms.

New-book emails

If you sign up for emails about new books, we store your email address and when you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from the list.

Analytics

Only if you allow it, we use privacy-friendly analytics (Statrak) to count visits and see which books are read. You can change your choice any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Services we use

  • Hosting, which keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability.
  • Lovable Cloud (Supabase) for accounts, likes, reviews, uploaded book files and the email list.
  • Google Fonts, which loads the site's typefaces.
  • Share buttons open the network you pick (such as X or Facebook) only when you tap them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how it's used. Most of this you can do yourself from your account page; for anything else, contact us. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may also be able to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

AyPress isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
